The Stormberg mountains at 5000 feet above sea level, with its wide-open grasslands supports great Vaal Rhebuck, Black Wildebeest, Blesbuck and Cape Eland. Upland bird hunting, waterfowl and guineafowl is a speciality of Crusader safaris.

The Stormberg mountains are a unique area in South Africa, great plains game and very good bird hunting is what the area is known for. A few days hunting the Stormberg while based in the Baviaansriver area or as a stopover between the Umkomaas and Baviaansriver, the experience of hunting this mountainous free range area is always good.

Crusader Safaris hunts upland game birds and Waterfowl in the Stormberg. Greywing partridge over well trained English pointers and Waterfowl on small ponds or cereal crops offers a varity of birds and hunting in the winter months of May to August.

Crusader Safaris consistently hunts some of the best Vaal Rhebuck in Southern Africa, the Stormberg and Baviaansriver has large populations of Vaal Rhebuck. Black Wildebeest, free range Cape Eland and other common species.

The lodge in the Stormberg is a ranch house built in the 1800s, this luxurious lodge is great after a hard days hunting in the hills of the Stormberg. Under floor heating, a lot of history and great local food can all be expected.
