Crusader Safaris hunts Buffalo, Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Crocodile, Hippo and plains game in the incredible Niassa area of Mozambique. This wild, free range wilderness area is classical Africa.

Mozambique is a country of unimaginable grandeur and beauty, from the warm Indian Ocean that washes 1500 km of its shoreline to the rugged mountains and sweeping bushveld of the hinterland.

Situated in the historical hunting grounds of Mozambique, our hunting concession spans over one million acres and comprises typical Mopani ecosystems, in which occurs an abundance and diversity of free range dangerous game and plains game. The area supports very healthy populations and trophy quality of Elephant, Lion, Leopard and Buffalo, and a diversity of plains game including Eland, Sable, Chobe Bushbuck, Lichtenstein’s Hartebeest and the beautiful Niassa Wildebeest. The area not only offers incredible hunting but impressive natural beauty. A relaxing sundowner on one of the massive granite inselbergs is a great way to end a hard day of hunting.

Getting to the area is really easy, a commercial flight to Phemba in Mozambique and then a short charter to the main camp. The Niassa has two camps, Main camp centrally located in this massive free range, wilderness area and two spike camps to access the far reaches of the area. All three of these camps are authentic luxury camps in wild Africa with great views, Lion roaring at night, Hyena squabbling, Leopard growling and Hippo grunting in the river.

The area not only offers incredible hunting but the Mozambique coast produces some of the best big game fishing in Africa. A few days relaxing on the warm Indian ocean can be added before or after the safari. The season runs from June to the end of November, the hunting is good throughout this time. The Niassa river area in Mozambique is wild free range, authentic Africa, this compliments our South African hunting and adds to the Crusader Safaris experience.
