Hunting areas

We do most of our hunting on the South Eastern side of South Africa in the Eastern Cape and Kwazulu Natal provinces.
Our main areas are the Baviaansriver conservancy, the Umkomaas River concervancy and the Stormberg mountains.
In keeping with our policy not to hunt in high fenced areas we have a big game area that we hunt in Mozambique.

The Baviaansriver Conservancy is a 350 000 acre conservancy in the Eastern Cape Province. It is big country with no high fences and very little hunting pressure.
A huge diversity of animals can be found in this area, from the largest of the antelope the Cape Eland right to the tiny Blue Duiker. There are 25 huntable species within 1,5 hours drive of our main camp. The numbers of animals and trophy quality are impressive to both the first time hunter to Africa or the more seasoned African hunter.
We have over the years taken really big Cape Kudu in this conservancy, where you will see large herds of Lechwe and Bontebok to go with the more common plains game species. The coastal forests of the Indian ocean where we hunt Caracal and Blue Duiker are an easy 2 hour drive away from the main camp.

The Umkomaas river Conservancy is where we hunt very big Southern Kudu, Cape Bushbuck and Nyala. It is a unique area where have the opportunity to hunt all three spiral horned antelope in their indigenous environments and free range. In this 150 000 acre conservancy the terrain is a mixture of forest and grass covered hills. A large supply of food, good genetics and age class all contribute to making the Umko a great area to hunt exceptional trophies.

The Stormberg Mountains at 5000 feet above sea level has excellent plains game and the best Vaal Rhebok in Africa.
We do a lot of bird hunting in the Stormberg. Waterfowl in cereal fields in the early morning followed by Greywing Partridge over English pointers during the day. The Greywing Partridge is the fastest flying upland game bird in Africa and a real challenge to hunt in the mountains of the Stormberg.
Situated mid way between the main lodge in the Baviaansriver and our camp in the Umkomaas this area offers unique hunting in the mountains of the North Eastern Cape.

With three hunting areas and upwards of 900 000 acres of free range hunting in South Africa, that we have sole access to it goes without saying that the trophy quality is exceptional. We hunt all our animals in their indigenous environments not in fenced areas. The hunting is challenging but rewarding as this unrestricted movement and good management has ensured good populations of trophy quality animals.
